Every 2 years, the UN FAO publishes important statistics everyone in the fishery and aquaculture sector should know. According to the most current UN FAO SOFIA 2020 report, the top 25 countries and territories for global marine capture produced 67.83 million tonnes of seafood, which is equivalent to 80 percent of the world total of 84.41 million tonnes in 2018.
